Third Release

Well, as of last night I've put up a third version. Only a Windows release this time as I currently only have (local) access to Windows, and my two (...) alpha/beta testers are both using Windows anyway. The Linux version is causing problems anyway, which I need to look into once I get the time.

Stereo Pairs

I've stuck some stereo pairs up in my photos section, for people who want some more images to play with but don't want the effort of getting off there arse, calibrating there own camera and taking some photos all on there own. Its far more enjoyable to do the whole thing yourself, so don't download them. I'm not even going to provide a linky.

I've just put up a new version. Ignoring a bunch of bug fixes this version includes a complete re-write of the fundamental matrix calibration code. Most noticeably it has moved to RANSAC with the seven point algorithm rather than the eight point algorithm, and uses a Levenberg-Marquardt refinement stage. Additionally the Auto-Match button now works, though it is using a very slow and primitive algorithm. I intend to populate the drop down box I added latter with far better algorithms. I have also updated tutorial 1 to reflect that and a few other minor GUI changes.

First Release

Well, at this time only one person knows about this section on my website, so this announcement seems rather pointless really. But it is the first release of Cyclops, so I couldn't not 'announce' it.

I guess I should get into the habit of making change logs, but all I've added is tutorial 3. Which is admittedly rather useful, as it gives you the skill to use your own input with Cyclops. Which is probably what everyone (i.e. both of them.) who has used Cyclops wants to do.

A Section!

I've finally created a section on my website for Cyclops. It is only accessible by password right now, I'll be making it public at a latter date. If your here then you have either been given the Cyclops only login (l/p: cyclops/oneeye), or you have a general login which allows you to access this and other parts of the site as well.

Note, that at this time CYCLOPS IS NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION. There are various reasons, but it mostly revolves around my code exporting some patented algorithms, which is fine for my research work but no good for general release on the internet. I'll be releasing Cyclops proper when all this is cleaned up and the manual is written.

I have not yet written the about section, or put up the downloads. I will be doing this latter today when I also have access to Windows for compilation purposes.

A weird tenticle thing, emerging from the website.
